An Afternoon at the Mall of Asia - T.G.I. Friday's Jack Daniel's Burger

We went to the Mall of Asia today after we passed by Makati to get our tickets for Graphika Manila. Shayne wanted to take Bentley out so we went to MOA. After walking around a bit we wanted a snack before we continued shopping so we went to T.G.I. Friday’s because they allowed Bentley in and I wanted Shayne to try the best burger in the Philippines, the Jack Daniel's Burger.

We ordered the burger and a milkshake to share. The burger is a 7-oz grilled patty glazed with Jack Daniel's sauce topped with 2 strips of bacon & cheese with the usual lettuce, onions, tomato, cucumber & pickle on a toasted bun. The burger is served with fries and extra Jack Daniel's sauce.

When you order the burger they ask you how you want the patty done. It's best to get it medium well but that's just my opinion. We asked them to slice the burger in half so Shayne and I could each get our own piece. We were eating our halves really slowly because we wanted to savor the experience.

The main reason behind the burger's greatness is the Jack Daniel's sauce that they use and serve the burger with. When you take the little serving dish of sauce and pour or spread the sauce on the burger you know even before taking your first bite that it's a damn good burger.

The milkshake is an EXTRA thick chocolate milkshake which, I think, is just a couple of scoops of ice cream blended with some milk hence the extra extra thickness to it. Although the glass was extremely small for a milkshake glass, it was really good and I'm a sucker for milkshakes so I'm never disappointed with a good milkshake.

Bubus traveled to South Bound Express Way for Cinnabon ♥

Hi everyone! First of all I would like to say that unlike Martin I am not a great cook. I also do not have a natural talent / skill to identify the taste of each ingredient used in a dish. I am just a regular girl who loves to eat whatever food that tastes good. You may find my opinions / reviews on this blog simpler compared to what Martin had to say ;)

The day we went to Pancake House was the day we decided to follow our craving for Cinnamon Rolls. It all started with the movie "The Proposal" starring Sandra Bullock. We watched it on our cable and saw a short scene from the movie that showed beautiful huge cinnamon rolls. Since then we've been wanting to travel all the way to SLEX just to get a bite of Cinnabon's Cinnamon Rolls.

Cinnabon's orginal plain Cinnamon Roll is the best I've ever tasted. I never really liked the flavor of cinnamon until I tasted Cinnabon. The texture is so soft especially in the middle of the roll. I also like it warm cause it gives you the comforting feeling on each bite. The price is just right. And the atmosphere of the place is heavenly. You can smell the scent of cinnamon miles away from their store. It is a really good comfort food for anybody who's having a bad day.

Remember whenever you feel bad Cinnabon can ease your pain.

Pancake House - SLEX Northbound

Shayne & I were looking for a good place to have lunch in BF but we were having a hard time finding or thinking of a restaurant that would allow Bentley inside so we decided to go to the Caltex gas station on SLEX northbound between the Southwoods & San Pedro Entrance/Exits to see if any of the restaurants there would allow Bentley in & to satisfy our recent craving for Cinnabon. When we got there, I asked one of the waiters at Pancake House if they would allow Bentley to stay inside and they said yes as long as he stayed in the bag so that's where we ended up eating lunch.

Shayne ordered the Arroz a la Cubana and I ordered the Hamburger Steak Special Set which includes a hamburger steak, spaghetti, & mixed vegetables; I also ordered an extra cup of rice (of course).

I liked how they grilled the hamburger steak and didn't just fry it on a griddle like how other restaurants would do it. The spaghetti was really good as per usual from Pancake House (their spaghetti has always been good). One thing I do with the gravy they serve though is add some hot pepper sauce to it to give it a little spice because it tends to be a bit bland since it's not a drippings-based gravy but just a butter-based gravy.

The meal, overall, was great. I think we've never had a bad meal at a Pancake House before. I believe that, contrary to popular opinion, Pancake House doesn't overprice their food because you don't only pay for the food but you also pay for the atmosphere, the environment, and the overall experience. We may not be able to eat at Pancake House all the time, admittedly due to the cost, but we will definitely eat there again.
